Creative Writing: Facebook Marketplace Poem
For my writing minor, I took a creative writing class to help boost my creativity and re-awaken my imagination, because it had been a long time since I had done a creative writing piece. We had the liberty to choose whatever we wanted for the final in this class, so I chose to create poems based on items I found on Facebook Marketplace. This was inspired by a different assignment we did in class, where we described various items that our professor brought in. This assignment truly helped me get out of my comfort zone since I am not big on poems, and allowed me to exercise my creativity. I really enjoyed this activity, and I love going back and reading the fun poems that I created.

Water Blob Future
Yes I would like a Fat Boy Water Blob please
It would go perfectly with my boat
And my 2 Sea-Doos
Or maybe I’d have Yamahas
We could grill some hot dogs and a few burgers
Have some watermelon and some Otter Pops
Better save the blue one for me!
Watch the kids and the dog play
As we catch up with old friends
And then take everybody out on the boat
Have a few drinks
Have a few laughs
Toss the kids off the tube once or twice
And then watch the sunset
While roasting s’mores of course
And having a cheers goodnight
Too good friends and good memories
And good families and good futures
Yes I would like a Fat Boy Water Blob please
America’s Uniform
Has this garb seen the kitchen?
Truly worn by a citizen who flipped the burgers and fried the fries and reminding me again that the ice cream machine is out of order?
Is this a piece of clothing who has smelled of grease after the end of a late night shift?
Has it been stained with sweat of a being that has been tasked to clean the throw up in the men’s bathroom?
Or it's just a fad. A scam.
Something to mock those who work to feed the American people and to pay their bills.
Why is it framed upon a star spangled flag
If it only makes a mockery of those who keep the country running
Let us wear the McDonald’s uniform
Although we have never felt the burning of hot fry oil upon our skin
Or the wet spit of an angry customer that doesn’t understand
That the ice cream machine is broken

Lost Beach Boy
We found him!
There he is
Where has he been?
Where will he go next?
Doesn’t look like he went far
He just went for a stroll on the beach
A sunset stroll
On the beach
But he has been found!
And that is what matters
We will not let him out of our sights again
He is dangerous
He may seem harmless
With his wide stride and skinny legs
Beach shorts and red t-shirt
But be warned
The public mustn't know his power
